The desire to create.
North Roots collective gets its name
from, quite honestly, my heart. “North roots” - my roots. After many years of travel and time spent far from where I was born, I realized many things about myself. Including the solidity of my roots and the value of fulfilling work. This shift in priorities and pursuit for self acceptance, is what lead me down a path of exploring my passion, embracing the often overwhelming creativity that floods my brain, and putting it out into the world.
But perhaps the part of the name that piques curiosity is “Collective”. One may expect to see something more apparently collaborative, a collection of various works from different people. But the collaboration here is more behind the scenes. An acknowledgement, that I couldn’t do it on my own. Only with my loved ones, their support and their talents.
I hope to always create something that is a pleasure to gaze upon. To perhaps remind you of someone or some place or some time. For your home, for your life, for a moment, something beautiful.
